Brandi Dredge: Author and Advocate
Empowering Survivors Through Storytelling and Service
Brandi is the award-winning author of Girl, Uncoded: A Memoir of Passion, Betrayal, and Eventual Blessings, published in October 2024 with She Writes Press. She's all about empowering survivors through her storytelling and service in the community. Living in Missouri, Brandi gets inspired every day, jotting down her thoughts on Post-its, Jotter pad, or Word documents.
She’s always learning from her mentors and soaking up the resources they share online, whether on websites or YouTube. Her passions are deeply rooted in her faith, family, and the oneness of life. Brandi has a knack for turning thoughts into beautiful words. She's known for her big smile, laughing when she feels like crying, crying when she should be laughing, and chasing after her dreams with all she's got.
Brandi is not just a mom and encourager; she's a true example of resilience. She shares her story to lift up and inspire those facing similar struggles. She enjoys swimming in the deep end of mystical thoughts, wading in emotions to pen poetry, and sipping a strong cup of coffee.
As a member of The National Association of Memoir Writers, The Junior League, and the National Coalition to End Child Marriage, Brandi makes sure her voice is heard for the causes she cares about deeply. Her advocacy work is as much a part of her as her writing, making her a real force for good.

Speaking at the National Crime Victim Rights Week Breakfast, 4/11/2025, St. Joseph MO.
My daughter. My son. My heart :)
A snapshot in time. My reasons. My why. Our first professional family photo after becoming a family of three.

Our stories have strength because God is in them—even when it’s difficult to see—
With a heart full of gratitude, I cast a gentle glance back and whisper to the wind, what a wonderfully wild and transformative year it has been.
Advocating to end child marriage alongside other survivors with Unchained At Last, has been powerful, unforgettable, and as three more U.S. states (Maine, Oregon and Missouri) and one district (Washington, D.C) banned child marriage, it is a reminder that while there is still work to do in other states, change is possible, 16 down, 34 to go!!
Getting the opportunity to sit with, learn from, and empower other survivors throughout our community with The Panel (a group dedicated to promoting healing after trauma through storytelling and service) is humbling, one of my greatest honors, and work I look forward to continuing.
Being invited to speak on the podcasts of people who inspire me and others, and at the Crime Victims Breakfast, in a room full of people who helped me see things I couldn’t, and to say “thank you” brought me so much joy and gratitude.
Launching the book at The Story Collective Sisters of Solace and Cup of Joe Coffee was incredible and a dream that came true. To every local business, as well as the Junior League of St. Joseph and St Joseph Public Library, which encouraged me, displayed my book and/or bookmarks, your support has meant everything. Crowned Beauty Studios, thank you for the space. I our community and the ways we lift others when we can.
To every single person who came to a book signing, has downloaded Girl, Uncoded, bought the paperback, checked it out at the library, posted about it on your timelines, listened to a podcast I was on, sent me a message, shared it with a friend, told their book clubs about it or someone you love, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Because of you, amazing humans, Girl, Uncoded has sold over 2,000 copies and received several awards.
I had always wanted to help one person see what, for so long, I couldn’t, and I am beyond thankful to know that over the past year, Girl, Uncoded has done just that.
Onward to year two!!
